Yes, that would be me, back. For the sum total of 36 hours, more or less, but close enough.
Scotland is a very very beautiful country. We saw deer! A real deer! Squee! And pheasants, heather, ancient standing stones, lots of kilts and plaids (most of them for sale to English/Japanese/German/American tourists).
Good things:

Brought lots of chocolate. Got bought more.

Hotels OK (not as good as the Tallinn SAS Radisson though) - free biccies, coffee and shower gel.
Went riding! Squee! We went on a one-hour hack through amazing countryside near Loch Ness, breathtaking scenery, wildlife, forests, hills. Had some wonderfully fast canters that, for once, didn't terrify me. Fell in love with my pony, a Highland called Ceilidh. So sweet! A very easy ride, which was nice.
Sheep, standing stones, flowers, weather mostly good.
Science museum in Glasgow pretty interesting, cool design, show about gases very funny (blowing up hydrogen balloons and chucking dry ice and liquid nitrogen around = good!).
Bought cute earphones so can listen to music without disturbing people.
Pollock House in Glasgow has lots of cool stuff in, like ancient pottery as old as Elrond, and Chinese stuff and Greek stuff and Egyptian stuff and Renaissance stuff.
Got good predictions from Chinese fortune sticks, and fortune cookies in the restaurant in Inverness.
Got some fic writing done, though not much. However, Eluréd and Elurín decided they wanted to co-operate for a bit, and even gave me a vignette plot-bunny on the shores of Loch Ness!
Scotland has its own sets of banknotes! They're pretty!
Lots of nice food.
Scottish people very nice. Scottish accents very nice.
Scottish supermarkets open till about 8pm on Sundays! Why can't English ones do that?
First hotel had a CD player => Nightwish!! Second hotel did not, but got single room there => spent ages in bath/shower, go me!
Bad things:
Second hotel had broken window-closing-device-thing, peeling edges on wallpaper, very slow and tiny lifts and other small but annoying niggles that one wouldn't expect from a decent hotel.
Lots of cattle-truck tourists taking over hotel in coachloads.
No internet.
Laptop apparently delayed until 27th cos the processors aren't here yet! Grrrrrr!
Science museum in Glasgow out of date and needs to change display on cloning now Dolly is dead.
Earphones slightly too big/ears slightly too small, so fit dubious.
Brother managed to be irritating.
I'm rubbish at skimming pebbles!
Got crapped on by a seagull - ironically, having seen them overhead, I had melodramatically and half-seriously thrown up my hands over my head, so the crap hit my sweater not my hair. Which means it's actually good, as sweatshirts are much easier to clean crap out of than hair if you're on your way to dinner.
Ate too much.
Phone credit ran out right in the middle of a conversation with Avvie, leaving me worried he'd be all offended or something.
Missed you all!
Conclusion: More good than bad, in both number of points and actual importance of points. Therefore, holiday was nice. Not earth-shatteringly interesting (after all, we spent a lot of it sitting in the car travelling!) But interesting. I now know what Glasgow and Inverness are like, which is useful.
Will post piccies as soon as I can organise various stubborn pieces of software to co-operate, and can secure use of the main computer for long enough.
Now, have to start packing again, LOL. Oh, you gotta love it all, the madness, the madness!
