lifes_a_dream!! I didn't see you at the Path 'lecture' today, which means, presumably, that unlike me you had actually found out there wasn't one. Yay for you not having to do Path on your birthday, right?! :D :D
I had NO IDEA today was a Bank Holiday. This possibly suggests I live in a different universe...
Saw HHGTTG last night. I haven't read the book yet, so had no preconceptions about the movie except expecting there to be a 42 in there somewhere. Consequently, I was impossbile to disappoint. And, indeed, I had a great time. Anything with Alan Rickman makes me happy - I love that guy! Movie funny, characters sweet and quirky and nice. Makes me want to keep pet mice and talk to them all the time.
And, of course, I still have So long and thanks for all the fish in my head. LOL.
(Tomdavison: As I am sure you saw, I didn't get my bag searched or get kicked out for bringing in my own sweeties. Nor did we have our tickets checked on the way out or get charged again on failure to reproduce said tickets. And no, they are NOT trying to rob a bank by digging a hole under St Andrew's Street. [/teasing])
Also, I have purchased Deerskin by Robin McKinley. I think it should be an interesting read... :)
Supervision with Dr X went WELL today. Mostly because my enthusiam for prions is considerably more than his, and I read background stuff (you can tell he's a medic - he got bored of sheep and scrapie in about 3 minutes) and I knew stuff he didn't and forced questions on him that he didn't know the answers too... *beams* Also, my latest essay was a 2:1/1st. So much for his 2:2 prediction in Michaelmas...
Also, lovely lovely practical in Botanic Gardens. Saw 4 different ladybird species at least, and ladybirds mating, shield bugs mating, looked at juniper bushes from all over British Isles. Lots of clover which Brendan confused with Oxalis, which is disturbing since Oxalis has 4 leaflets on a leaf, this clover obviously had 3, and he's just done a project on Oxalis. And I STILL bounce whenever I see a legume. What's wrong with me? :D
