Here is a quote from my supervision report at the end of Michaelmas term:
"...has progressed reasonably well this term. Her supervision work is generally good, although extra background reading would help improve her answers...contributes well to supervisions and is enthusiastic about the subject."
Industry: Satisfactory
Progress: Satisfactory
Interest: Enthusiastic
Predicted class: 2.ii/2.i

Well...I came top out of al the Biology of Cells students in my year in the college and got a first.

So all I have to say to my supervisor is, "Egg!" and :p
So ner.

Got a 2.2 in QB, but overall the exams come to a 2.1 by my estimates, which should keep my DOS quiet and will keep me quiet.

I've split up with Jack cos it wasn't working, for various reasons.

Oh, and there is now sufficient interest being shown in our fanfiction society that it's actually worthwhile arranging a pub meeting sooner or later for the purpose of talking about slash and other fanfiction for several hours. If anyone else who hasn't heard is interested, the e-mail is cambridge_fanfic@hotmail.com - e-mail us and we'll send a corny welcome form at you where you can rave about what kind of fanfic you like.

I've developed an addiction to jaffa cakes. I've gone through a pack of 24 in 1-2 days, which is so not healthy. My other new hobby is collecting toxic chemicals on my lab coat. So far I have mercuric iodide and sodium arsenate and imidazole... all very jolly.

And CUWoCS rocks!

Do you think spending several hours talking about slash is a good idea?

Mmmmmmmm... Jaffa cakes.

I told the assassins to bribe me with them, when I was running the game. That was fuuun.

ARGH! Slash! Nooooooooooo!

Oh, absolutely. Put it this way, if we all choose to huddle together in a pub every now and then for such purposes, that gets us all off the streets for /several hours/ and might just use up some of our slash-energy, thereby reducing the amount we inflict it on everyone else the rest of the time :)

Mmm, maybe.

I'm not sure it's healthy though. Maybe you should try writing some non-slash fic?

I do. I've spent the best part of a decade writing non-slash of various varieties.

I wouldn't worry about me and slash. Anything currently wrong with me was already broken long before I first stumbled upon that R-rated twincest all those aeons ago...

In Principle I approve of Slash
In Practise I approve of Jaffa Cakes

Yay!

There are worse things than twincest out there.

OTOH, a properly dark fic can be a lot more... effective ...regardless of it's slashyness.

Hmm, I so need a fandom userpic.

Mmm...

Is there a next bit?

There's about seven chapters, but it wanders off into quite pathetic Hermione/Snape ramblings, and got lost when I worked out that my nice, clever plot didn't fit with canon unless I spent ages writing the summer holidays. Also, it suffers from the same thing as my dream writeups, in that I feel the need to record everything in exhaustive detail.

If anyone's particularly intererested I can find it and post it somewhere.

It sounds to me that you could do with a beta.

CUWoCS rocks!

Yes, yes we do. However, few of us roll much.

Hmm, slash. I *will* defeat Edith!

It was partially beta'd by [livejournal.com profile] painispretty, but I got bored (and busy) during the rewrite, and I still can't work out how to deal with the chronology problem.

Hmm... I don't know if bored or busy is a bigger problem :-)

Bring it on. And should we tell Tom about this at some point?

If he doesn't know yet, that's entirely his fault and I see no need to enlighten him.
