Hmmmm...Holy Donner Meat...Donner Meat Goood....
Worship Van of Death...Van of Death Goood...
Have discovered Bagenders series. V. funny and appeals to my keen sense of the ridiculous.
Cells practical today went as follows:
Put some E. coli in an incubater
Have lunch. For 2 hours.
Watch a video on how to innoculate agar plates of Aspergillus (a green and yellow fungus whish smells like one) then innoculate 4 agar plates, each with 25 dots of Aspergillus spores.
Centrifuge E. coli and innoculate more agar plates with E.coli which magic plasmids which give antibiotic resistance and other magic properties we have to work out next week.
Go home.
This was a good practical, as Cells practicals go, owing to its being:
1. Not too rushed
2. Not too long
3. Involving bunsen flames which can be used to melt biros
4. Moderately interesting as not involving spectrophotometers
My heart goes out to lab techs everywhere who have to do this every day. *pats poor lab techs on head*
New E&B supervisor is a total darling and let us do fun exercises with lots of pretty coloured pictures of animals. She set us work, which the last supervisor didn't, but I don't really mind because hopefully the work will make me Clever and Distinguished.
