Excitingness!
30 June 2004 17:34*pokes LJ* Still slow and unreliable. Silly LJ.
Had a very exciting afternoon, by my standards anyway.
Eni getting stopped by a policeman: Eni had just been innocently buying Large Amounts of cheap chocolate from Quality Save, and was happily heading in the direction of the Library when she passed a policeman.
Policeman: Excuse me, can I talk to you for a moment?
Eni: Yes.
Policeman: Can I ask you where you've been today?
Eni: Well, I went round Sale, and I went to Quality Save, and then to Savers... (A/N - as you can see, I am a total sucker for cheapo shops. Great, isn't it?)
Policeman: Well, you see, I have Quality Save on my radio here, and they say some people have been in the shop acting suspiciously, males and females. I see you've been to Quality Save. (glances at my Quality Save carrier bag)
Eni: Yes.
Policeman: Do you have a receipt for those goods?
Eni: Yup, should be right here... (roots in jeans, pulls out wallet, roots in wallet, produces receipt and displays it as if it were a Metro ticket for inspection.)
Policeman: That's fine. I'm sorry to bother you.
(Exeunt)
That was the highlight of my afternoon. Paid in cheques, got a new cashcard (that polava about me changing address came back to haunt me when they spontaneously cancelled my card the other day. Bummer.) New cashcard identical to old one. Bought random European chocolate that was cheap - yay!
Items of interest (to me at least):
1. Tonight I'm going to see the opening of the new Arts Complex in my old school. "Refreshments provided" - i.e. free drink (wine?). May get to see old teachers - w00t!
2. May be going to visit Avvie at the weekend - Yippetty Yippetty Doodle Doo! If we can get this organised, this makes me incredibly excited and puts me in a good mood for the rest of the week :D
Also, Sprouts likes celery but Flower really doesn't.
