3 August 2004 12:39OK, that's weird. I've just received all the comment notifications that had been lost in the past, for comments going back as far as June 26th. They've been coming at a rate of about one every hour, totally useless now since they're so old. *wonders why this is happening*
Depo shots.
3 August 2004 16:21The one small drawback of being in a het-er-o-sexual relationship is this issue of babies, and ensuring there aren't any.
So Eni traipsed down to the doctor's this afternoon and talked to a charming doctor who talked lots about the relative merits and demerits of depo shots. (I'd already explained that no way would I be able to take the pill regularly; brain like sieve, no ability to organise, etc.)
Depo shot it was. It seems the 2 main things I might get are 1. weight gain and 2. weirdo periods all over the place. Also, if I have lots of these shots, I'm at more risk maybe of osteoperosis, but that's a risk I'll look at later if I decide I like the shots. *realises she may have to start doing some kind of physical exercise again* Hmm...well, I'll manage, I'm sure.
Depo shots are not done into your arm.
They are done into your butt.
So I got my ass grabbed by the lovely lady doctor, wiped clean with a swab, then an itsy bitsy injection which I hardly noticed. Yay! It's effective pretty much immediately (not least cos they do it in the first 5 days of your period anyway), and meant te be reliable. I'm now very bouncy and stuff.
It may be that because this is a progesterone analog thingy, it may also make my boobs get bigger...we'll have to see. Avvie may like that, although I dunno if I want more boobs myself. ^^
