My fingers are now itching to write the Department of Pathology a long handout on the failings of the 1b course with regard to NatSci teaching and their apparent lack of desire to hear NatSci opinions. I think I might just prepare them a little essay...
TV Licence people keep badgering me about my lack of a TV licence. For the record, I do not have a TV, nor do I want one as the Internet is more powerful and entertaining. *wishes nasty d00m upon them* Although
senji pointed out that they can't actually come into the flat without a search warrant. And it's not as if I am doing anything wrong by not wanting to watch their precious BBC during termtime.
Made spagbol the other night and it was goooood. Am at a party tonight, go me for being the social one.
Bacteria smell awful. Trust me on this, a nice, healthy culture of E. coli smells absolutely foul. We got to play with various different kinds on Friday in the practical, and they are sooo stinky. And I got a throat swab taken! Everyone will get to see what nasties live in my mouth. There were a lot of random petri dishes left after the lab, so a swab was taken from a supposedly non-contaminated working bench and added that to the pile too. It'll be interesting to see what grows on that.
I do have a practical on Monday, it seems. The Week 1 in the timetable that my brain naturally equated with this coming Monday actually refers to this Monday we've already had, which was before Full Term started, so I wouldn't consider worthy of mention. So I'll presumably have a writeup to do for that. However, it is ELISA, which is this thingy with antibodies and stuff if memory serves, which we did lots in Path and is pretty easy really. Hopefully it will go smoothly.
