I am supposed to be writing an essay. Thus, I update my LJ for the first time in a few days. I'm still here, and I'm fine - just a bit busy and very inept. Owe RPGs some posts - that will be taken care of today.
On Thursday night I went to see Rocky Horror at Christ's. This was hilarious and an excellent use of 2 hours. The last time I saw Rocky Horror it was a DVD in someone's room, sans the audience participation. The audience participation really does make the movie. Wow. The front row was all in drag, and the front and back rows both added MST3K-like comments throughout. Amazing. Far superior to a DVD in a bedroom! I'll have to do that again sometime!
Yesterday I met up with my beeeee supervisor to talk about bees, PhDs and stuff in general. Was fun - I got to pick his brain on PhDs and am sorting out some research to keep me in work-mode over Easter, and he got to pick my brain on the current research (because I have had no involvment in the research for about 5 weeks now, I was giving my perspective on some of the experiments without having been swayed or biased by other people's comments, which may have turned up the odd useful idea or two, perhaps).
Today I caught up on lost sleep and am finishing an essay on copper homeostasis in Chlamydomonas (a green alga).
Apparently my brother has given up alcohol. I wonder if this is in any way connected to the fact that a friend spiked his drinks with vodka recently, including the pint of "water" my brother was drinking to sober up afterwards. I'm sure his liver will thank him anyway.
