I win at teh stupid

OK, so back in autumn 2003 Sir Ian McKellen visited college and very graciously stayed to sign autographs. In my scatterbrained manner, I remembered today that I did have something signed, but then soon enough forgot about it, put it away for safekeeping and stopped thinking about it.

So there I was today trying to remember what on earth it was I got him to sign. I went through all my Tolkien books, no joy.

I dug out my LOTR Visual Companions - still no joy.

I flapped my hands and said naughty words.

I finally remembered it was my The Two Towers mug. But I have NO IDEA where I put it. I think it might be in the attic.

I'm such an idiot sometimes!

(In other news, I realised today that the blind in the bathroom that I thought was oatmeal coloured was actually meant to be white, just hasn't been cleaned in 8 years. Eep!)

Watch battery decided to go flat this afternoon.

The obvious thing would be to change it, right? Yeah...I've tried about 8 different screwdrivers and none of them will unscrew the screws on the back. Not one! Waaah.

Options:
1. throw watch at brother and offer him £1 if he can get the back off without rendering the watch useless
2. buy a new watch (about £7)

I think I'll try 1. first then give up and go with 2. The watch is about 2 years old, I think, so it's had a good run.
