Is it that weird to want to work on 29th December?
The department was practically deserted today. I got the genuine feeling that I was the only one there for most of the day, once the lab tech left.
Well, I made it into an Eni-haven in any case. I put on my purple heater, played music really loudly and considered what to do for coffee considering the admin staff had very helpfully locked the kitchen, which is the only room in the department where the cold water tap actually produces drinking water that isn't toxic.
In the end, I retrieved my own instant coffee from home at lunchtime, used the lab kettle and filled it with water from the water cooler thing on our floor. One of the admin staff has told us we're not meant to do that, but she's not in, and if she locks my kitchen then sorry, but I'll use her water. It was only a little bit, after all.
So I got a fair bit done, until I got frustrated with tidying up some loose ends of database and switched to lit review, which is terribly close to being finished to the point where, when supervisor comes back in New Year, I'll ask for a meeting with my advisory panel and stuff.
Really need to see about getting some bees already...
