It looks like my new job will be to locate and purchase a new non-stick saucepan.
95% of the time, when I cook swede, all goes well and delicious mashed swede is the end product.
This was one of the 5%. Turned my back and it boiled dry, just like that.
The swede was salvageable. The pan seems to have come off a bit the worse for wear. Removing the swede-black-burnt-stuff seems to have removed a chunk of the non-stick (not to mention some of the skin on my fingers, from scrubbing - needless to say with a non-stick safe scouring pad).
Therefore, I believe that the rest of the non-stick will soon follow. Thusly, I will be on a mission to find a half-decent saucepan. This saucepan was inherited from my mother (lasted 10 years with her, and 2 with me... go figure), so is probably better than most of the ones I'd normally buy. But since I liked it beforeI ruined itthe evil swede conspired against me, I might go a bit up-market than Wilko's this time.
Although Woolworths do some rather cute pans, as I recall...
Enough of pans!
Happy Birthday
shenya!
