enismirdal: (Bee!)
The remainder of the weekend at Tuxie's was lovely!

Mr Tux cooked me ostrich on Saturday night! YUM! After all the troubles we had trying to get some for Christmas (and failing) it was a delight to tuck into a good steak - and it was cooked to perfection. Was sitting on a sweet potato pancake thing, which was also sufficiently delicious that I've bought a sweet potato in the hopes of repeating the little miracle! :D Yay!

We went into town that day to see Happy Feet, but it didn't work too well! I didn't have any cash on me, and amazingly it was like a trip into the 1960s as the cinema declared they didn't take plastic! O_O As the film had already started by then (they were showing it without trailers...weird...), there was no point walking all the way back up the high street to a cash machine then returning to box office. But we came back the following day and saw Happy Feet then, huzzah! I liked it a lot - so incredibly adorable! *squees* Though I've never seen a non-cute-fwuffy seal in a kids' movie before!

On Saturday night we also had the chocolate fountain. Now THAT was good. We ate far too much chocolate, and much fun was had! The cat was mesmerised - he didn't even like chocolate, but he sat on the chair staring fixedly at it for ages and sticking out his paw as if planning to swipe something, only to realise he didn't want to eat anything on offer!

On Sunday I had to go home. There was engineering works on the train track between London and Tuxieland, so there was a replacement bus running to one of the other towns in the area, where I had to pick up the train to London. The bus was possibly the oldest one that could still pass an MOT, and I was almost feeling like giving it a round of applause when it made it to the station.

The train I got, rather than a usual one into Victoria, was a semi-fast to Charing Cross which went via New Cross. So I got off at New Cross - this being in Zone 2 and 15 minutes from home, it suited me rather well! So I think that was a win!

The week's been both slow and busy since. There's been a lot of stuff I've had to do that I'd normally procrastinate myself to next October about, so I've been a bit pressurised. There's something about doing stuff that involves talking to people and asking favours that I'm just not good at - mostly asking favours, because I like to be the one owed favours, not the one owing them! I guess it's debt-aversion!

But things seem to be slotting into place and I'm ordering bees tomorrow, to arrive next week. This means, [livejournal.com profile] cobalt_skye and co., that I'm free to Camdenise on Saturday. Give me a time and a place and I'll meet up!

Now I really need to submit my request for payment for those maths tests I was helping out on. I seem to be essentially demonstrating for free at the moment as I'm so bad at actually putting in the payment requests.

Field trip tomorrow! Only to the Natural History Museum, but woo woo nonetheless!
