I win at cake
17 June 2007 21:44Going to a beekeeping-related conference, it was somewhat inevitable that I should return with Too Much Honey.
So I decided to make honey cake.
Unfortunately, my honey cake recipe had got lost somewhere, so I sort of had to...invent myself...a recipe. This is fine, as recipes are for wusses anyway (no offence to rigid recipe-followers!).
Therefore, I have honey cake. Taste = rich and yummy and perfect. Texture = a bit crumbly (perhaps should have added another egg?), but very moist. Yummy gooey caramelised bits where it was against the edge of the dish.
All in all, very happy. Am working on report of trip. It may take several posts, some of which may be locked/filtered since I may end up talking about work-related matters, occasionally critically.
