So tomorrow is the European election.

Everyone eligible to vote in the UK: please, please vote!!

Especially if you live in a region where the BNP are running. Remember, this is proportional representation - if a large proportion of people vote for the BNP, the BNP get lots of seats. This is BAD because the BNP are not very nice. Not only do they hate black people and Asian people and especially Muslim people, they also hate gay people and disabled people. BNP: Do Not Want!!!

They're relying partly on their fanatics being less apathetic than the British at large, on people sitting home and navel-gazing when they could be voting against. Don't let this happen!!

So even if you're peed off with all the normal parties spending your money on duck ponds and stuff, please please vote. I am not the one to ask about who specifically to vote for, but please vote for someone who isn't the BNP!!! Sitting at home and grumbling is not a valid substitute for voting and is not going to stop our country being represented in Europe by crazy racists; voting, on the other hand, can.

Human rights and respect for people is more important than being home 10 minutes earlier - please vote even if it's not optimally convenient for you! It's important, it really is!

Oh dear

Baytril went to the vet on Monday. I don't think he really knew what was wrong but suggested it was probably the early stages of an infection so sent me home with a bottle of Baytril for Baytril, and some oral rehydration salts (I asked for them because they seem to be generally useful to have around when you have sick animals).

So I've been diligently dosing her, and it is looking like the unidentified infection is actually pyometra. :( :( Smelly pussy goo coming out of her hamstery lady parts...not so nice. :( :(

Having lost a hamster and having nearly lost a rabbit to this before, I admit I am lacking in optimism. On the plus side, at least it's trying to drain and she hasn't swelled up like a balloon. Perhaps I should give the specialist a buzz tomorrow.
