Still alive. Still reading LJ and commenting irregularly.
Updates may become more frequent in coming weeks (or they may not) - we'll have to see. The period between start of August and end of November was pretty horrendous with far too many things, of which each on its own would have been stressful, all happening at once. However, things are now much calmer, I've finished all my experimental work for my PhD and am "writing up". What this actually means is analysing all the data I collected, fixing some bits of my database and THEN writing up, but same difference.
What else? We got a new flatmate back in September - can't remember if I mentioned it or not. Also from Massachusetts and very lovely.
And there's a colleague in our lab who is getting more and more worryingly insane and unstable. Luckily, where I am now means I can mostly work from home and avoid her.
Oh, and I've nearly finished a fic, but the fic's been nearly finished for about 3 months now so can't say for definite when I'll be able to update its status to "finished".
Quinine and Cyanide (aka Bob) are both still plodding onwards. Quinine is kind of skinny these days thanks to old age, her teeth remain crap and need clipping every 3-4 days still and all her food has to be soaked or broken up into little bits, but she's remarkably perky and always excited to see me. Cyanide's also showing her age a bit these days and sleeping more and going a bit moth-eaten (I'm keeping an eye on that and if it looks like more than simply Geriatric Hamster she can come to Harold Wood and meet Mr Lawton to see what he thinks). She's still full of beans when she wants to be, though, running around the floor/inside my sweater. Tee-hee.
