CD problems
My Die Prinzen CD was returned to the sender. The reason for this appears to be that the new Porters haven't totally got the hang of their job.
During vacation, college does not store all the post for students who have gone home. Instead, as far as possible, it seems that they send it back to the sender. However, for students (like me) who remain in college over part of summer, this would be silly. So we have out filing cards with our names on arranged on racks on the wall - "students here because they are employed by the college" and "students who aren't employed by the college". I fall into the second category, and so my card was in the slightly less blindingly obvious rack.
Apparently new Porters tend not to notice this rack (which is in the middle of the wall and not small) and so when they get post, they check it against the names in the first rack, forget the names in the second rack and if it's not for any of the students they think are in college, they send it back.
Ergo, my Die Prinzen CD was sent back to the seller. Meh meh meh. Thankfully, the lovely lady e-mailed me to tell me this and asked if I knew what had gone wrong, so at least I was able to arrange to have it delivered to my parents' house. We'll have to see whether she wants a cheque to cover the second round of p&p.
The issue is that I have a Seraphim CD on order from Caiman USA as well. This is a largish company so I imagine they won't contact me personally if it gets returned. Additionally, it's an import, so if it does get sent back, it won't arrive for another 2 weeks so I won't know about it till I'm back at parents' house again anyway.
I am wondering if there is any way one can prove the package actually arrived here at some point so if it goes missing I can hold college accountable for the price of the CD.
Though honestly, I want the CD more than the money!!
