Vibrating jacket allows transmission of hugs over the internet.

Am I cynical, or it is extremely likely that a vibrating jacket that allows touches to be transmitted across the internet will be used for rather less innocuous purposes than parents hugging their children and dogs? How long before this becomes a way of facilitating cybersex (fair enough, but maybe not what the creators had planned) and/or a tool for abuse (not good...)?

Nice idea...but I am not convinced...

And what if you get a crossed line or spam or hacker taking it over?

But I think it would suck (not in a good way) for cybersex anyway. I mean, sex drives every invention, right? But they haven't found anything much better than typing oooo0o0ooooaooooo at each other, have they? :)

Do a search on "teledildonics" for something beyond typing. I think "USB" and "vibrator" also gets some hits.

Typing is much cheaper.
