enismirdalAttempted to pick up nanette to give him a tour of Cambridge. Unfortunately, on all 3 occasions that I came along and knocked on his door, he didn't answer, therefore presumably was not in. So gave up, assuming he was busy, and went shopping instead.

A pot plant
Getting around to looking at the label on the plant, I discover it is a Maranta or prayer plant or bandedaragornarrowroot. It's pretty. It looks like this one:

(Only it has smaller, narrower leaves with more dark on them, and generally is more dense.)
It was very thirsty when it got home to I watered it. I am going to call it Penlod. :D Penlod Prayer Plant. Pretty cool.
Have discovered one of flatmates is arachnaphobic --> I get lots of opportunities to ingratiate myself by removing spiders from the bathroom. Good deal :)
Oh, and I have been terribly industrious and spent 45 minutes doing reading in the library on pathology and developmental biology. Go me!
