Having a daffy day
11 November 2004 16:15Fazed out a few dozen times in lectures. Today was the day to sign up for Plants Field trip (Portugal, squee!). Unfortunately, the lecturte finished at 12 and the lady who had the sheets wasn't due to come in till 1pm.
So
l_j_b and I went into the Plant Sciences library to waste some time. I don't think I was very good company (owing to the fact that I fell asleep rather quickly on AIHL!!) but I gather she got some essay done. I woke up to find my right arm had gone totally numb (to the point where it took me 5 seconds to realise it actally was my arm, as I'd lost proprioception and all that too). Had fun whacking on the table until feeling returned (I'm terrible, I know...but I just feel the urge to bash it because I can).
Got signed up in the end. Sent off e-mail of confirmation. Will need to send in £75 deposit at some point soon, assuming I get on. *trusts to intrinsic luckiness in such matters*
Flatmate seems to be auditioning violinists (or maybe violas) in his room...lots of ringing of doorbells and playing of music.
Chucked out margarine cos it didn't smell right. Didn't smell wrong either, but just wasn't convinced by it.
I think I need a new hairbrush... My old one seems to be suffering from expired rubber, and the pad bit with all the bristles on has come off entirely except for a teeny bit on one side, so the bristle-pad is held to the handle-bit by being tied on with cotton. Not ideal. (Hairbrushes are one of those items that are all very well and good until you have to describe them in some detail, at which point you realise the miserable lack of vocabulary equipped to refer to the different parts of them, I think.)
Had every intention of working when I got back, but then Uli recced me at this fic and also at this one. Both are brilliant, although in very different ways!
Oh, and I counted my Drosophila. I seem to have 12. This is cool. But they don't seem to be doing much making baby Drosophila. I am hoping the ones in the lab do better!

This happens to me too.
It's fun in a kind of freaky way, isn't it?
*pokes somebody's arm*
