enismirdalGot into Plant Sciences and found mince pies on plates everywhere, and a large bowl of MULLED WINE! *squees* So we were all presented with cups of mulled wine (still alcoholic!), plus the offer to refill as we wanted.
I think I went through about half a pint of the stuff.
I wouldn't normally condone mixing alcohol and work, especially with lightweights like me, but it's practically the end of term (1 DAY TO GO!)and I'm ready to stop. So if mulled wine means the difference between me working and not working, bring on the wine! 3 cups later...
I certainly was pretty merry when I came out, which scared my poor (teetotal, nice-boy) nannette1. Alas, alack and egad, it didn't last - I was pretty sober (just dopey) by the time the Cells prac started, which was a pity. Fortunately, I managed to stay out of the way of the Grumpy Demonstrator.
Our gels ran beautifully, but the department messed up either the DNA or the enzyme they gave us, so the results were basically nonsense. It'd be interesting to know what they did wrong...
Got back and forced myself to finish the presentation, which would have enthused me greatly if I still had any enthusiasm for work left. I suppose I should practise it later and see if it approaches 10 minutes. Bet it doesn't. I'll just have to speak like Dr McDonald!

mdavison put forward the case that I am d00med to die of millions of bits of spyware, I downloaded Firefox. It's actually OK, and I'm getting used to it. One problem - I want my favourites list in the annoying bar down the side that I like. I don't know how to do this on Firefox and it makes me growly. Any suitable, nice geeks have any idea?
1 For non-Cambridgites - a first year I was expected to vaguely look after during his first week, and keep an eye on from time to time after that to make sure he's not vanished or dying of stress or anything.
