Want parents to leave me alone. Am soooo glad I live at college for 50% of the year or I'd probably be homicidal by now. As you can probably glean from the list above, it's not that they are bad people or that I hate them or anything; they just don't seem to get that I optimise at different times, and have different priorities to them. Yes, OK, it's there house, but I'm not actually doing anything to disturb them - if they didn't nag me, I'd probably only emerge from my room to do chores on request for about the next 4 days. They'd barely notice me!
Oh well, only 27 days to go... This would work out to 648 hours. Of which I'll probably spend 216 sleeping. Leaving 432 in which I can potentially be nagged. A finite number, anyway. You can tell I'm feeling persecuted right now, can't you? *hides in room with snuggly internet and Elves*
*promises to be bouncy by the time she next posts*
- Purchase of 25 bags of white maltesers. At 25p a bag instead of the usual 35p. Saving of £2.50. Nice.
- Conflict with parents over my circadian rhythms. Yes, I do consider 2am to 10/12pm to be 'night' if you like. Amazingly enough, this is as natural to me as 11pm to 7am is to them. I AM still working towards catching up on the enormous sleep debt I built up at Uni; I just do it in their 'morning' rather than their 'evening'. I am not lazy; I can achieve just as much in my daytime as they can in theirs. It just means that yes, I do consider it 'normal' to do laundry at 3am.
- Looked at guinea pig and the 'lump of hard stuff' that has formed since the operation. It seems to be basically a nobble of dead skin, and is incredibly close to falling off. Was rather pleased to see that the hair on her underside has now grown back nicely. Am glad she had the operation when she did.
- Persuading mother to buy a 20-pack of Bud for yours truly.
- Discovering that parents don't seem to 'get' central heating. As I see it, you set it at a level that results in you not shivering. Apparently this is not the case... *feet cold*
- Noticing that elephant-sized pile of washing brought back from Uni is now merely cow-sized. Phew.
- Being given speakers by dad to plug into laptop, meaning that my music no longer sounds like Nightwish are playing inside a biscuit tin.
- Weighed self and discovered that have lost between 2 and 4 pounds. Am hardly skeletal now, not by a long shot, but probably ought not to worry about slightly excessive chocolate consumption at this point.
- Vaguely starting to think about getting self some paid webspace, because it'd be convenient and nice.
- Have given up hope of finding The Missing Scene of AIHL so will attempt to recover that approximate page or so of handwritten stuff from memory and make up the rest. Likely as not, Eluréd will decide he has other ideas, so the end result will be totally different, but never mind. :)

Date: 12 Dec 2004 19:17 (UTC)bitlot annoying, with banners and pop-ups, and sucks rather a lot. Would use srcf but I am not sure how closely they monitor content, and I do have a fair amount of smutty fanfiction up on my site, plus some non-nude but suggestive photomanips. *pictures explaining slash to computer officer and looks scared*no subject

Date: 13 Dec 2004 18:31 (UTC)Ah that old problem. My parents understand it - heck they're plenty familiar with odd patterns themselves. But the point they make is: "it's inefficient to be out-of-synch with the general Society's patterns" and by extension, the rest of the family's too. Understandable I guess, but also a nuisance at times too.
But then, I've shaped my pride in being able to at least make a good attempt at having a highly flexible sleeping cycle given a few days' notice and enough material to boost me through. ^^;;
