Hmmm *thinks* Not sure. It's really an inability to cope with hard algebra (I've kind of learned the logistic model by rote), and my very poor caluculus. Although for some reason I seem to find Dr T's stuff better than the compatmental analysis (!) - maybe cos he's my supervisor.
Yeah, we get a formula book - standard derivs, standard integrals, integration by methid of integrating factor, chain rule, etc. Trouble is, they never seem to give you standard equations... It's like one practice question, it's differentiatiating mm model to get the rate eqn. Now I can integrate the rate eqn to get the mm model with my eyes shut, but going backwards is a pain, esp when they don't tell you what J is this time.
Well assuming it's not biology specific and not probability and statistics, there was a time I was good at explaining this stuff ... but not in my current sleep deprived state.
This is QB. It's evil maths. Even some Physicists can't do it. Part III Mathmos on the other hand *thinks* *lightbulb pings* CTS tonight...Part III Mathmos present...odds of smuggling in Part III Mathmo...*calculates, slowly*...low, goddammit!
*hugs* *GOOD VIBES* The only tips I can give are: 1. Print off pretty pics of your choice and write important but boring stuff around them. Then you'll look at pretty pics and see important stuff as well, and maybe some will go in. 2. Take lots of breaks. Having said that, I'm still doomed, so :p to my DOS.
Part III mathmos can't do amplicable maths (mathmaticians can't do arithmatic or algebra they will merely tell you that a solution exists...). Well known fact. Ask Nick, he might have some sort of clue.
