My watch tells me there is still more than half an hour before the food-providing place opens and starts providing me with food (admittedly of the almost inedible variety, but still food). I'm starving, and I don't want to start snacking because I've been eating so strangely in the last few days I feel the need to atone.

As I recall, they were threatening Mexican chicken tonight. That means chicken which is past its best and is liberally peppered with chilli to stop us tasting it.

Sod it. I'm snacking. McVitie's Cereal Bites - down to 20p a pack from £1.39. I had to buy. No nutritional value, but will fill my rumbly tummy. (For which the medical term is borborygmus). They can keep nasty chickenses until later.

Oooh, where from? Were they about to go off or is this a Genuine Special Offer?

Erm......their best before is technically today, but they're foil wrapped in little packets and taste fine. They were on the shelf of cheap reject stuff in the wine section.

The more I eat of them, they more they're growing on me. And because they've got apricot in, I can *almost* pretend they're healthy. (They are 1% dried apricot powder!!)
