I solved it! It took me over an hour and about a million tries, I have an A4 pice of paper covered in lists and scribbles, but I did it! Woohoo! *thankful cos that was driving her mad*

Was once shown a similar problem with matchsticks where you had to remove three sticks from the fifteen laid out, and get 9. Turns out the patterns of sticks spelled out NINE.
