Note on that insect
15 August 2006 21:39I attempted to look up that weirdo insect we saw in the Basel Botanic Gardens. I think it's some kind of potter wasp (like in the picture only without the markings). Coolness.
I've got addicted to this French TV mini-series "Spiral". It's funny how, unlike similar-ish series from across the pond of the crime drama genre, e.g. CSI or Law & Order, there is no attempt made to glamourise the process of investigating a crime - full on shots of murdered decomposing bodies, watching a creepy politician invite a teenage girl into his home with a scary leer, moderately explicit pr0n showing on TVs in the background. I also learned what French for "fisting" is, at least if the subtitles are to be trusted. Much to the great amusement of me and my brother. So that's cool, for being so radical and unashamed of the dark side of police life.
Will write Minicon update at some point. I didn't take a huge number of photos, alas, but quite a lot are of the cats! *grins*
I guess Tux is on a plane now, heading back to the UK.
Time to start thinking about Minicon 2007, hehe!
