I'm in the process of registering with a doctor here in London. The thing is, they want proof of address. The suggest either a bank statement, a recent utility bill, a council tax bill or rent book or benefits book. Unfortunately, I can't supply any of these things - I'm only just informing my bank of my change of address right now cos I'm inept, I don't have any utilities not covered by my rent, I don't pay coucil tax, don't have a rent book and am not on benfits. Would a copy of my tenancy agreement, which has my name and address both stated clearly, suffice? Or my tuition fees bill (which I will have to sort out when I enrol, as the BBSRC have promised to pay my fees...)?

Party was good. Will write up at a later date. Dad knows some really amazing people. Made friends with some people who live in London, will have to visit.

In other news, I am now the proud owner of an Oyster card. Hooray for Eni the Londoner!

Tiring couple of days, hehe!

Meeting with my supervisor at 10am tomorrow. I'm looking forward to getting going - hooray bees, flowers, computers, whatever I end up working with!

I'm thinking of going to Cambridge sometime in mid-October. This is all the thought I've applied to the idea so far. Times, dates, activities and who I will be visiting are still subject to confirmation (and open to suggestion!). If it includes an opportunity to collect that book off [livejournal.com profile] ewx, that would be fantabulous, of course.

It's most likely to be a Saturday or maybe Sunday. Will probably come on coach, as coach leaves from Aldgate (2 tube stops away) and takes 1.5 hours, and is £8.50 or so for the day, whereas train leaves from Kings Cross (>2 tube stops, and a change at Whitechapel or Aldgate East if it's a Sunday, as some bright spark deemed my tube stop not worthy of a Hammersmith & City service at off-peak times), takes nearly and hour and dumps me a mile outside central Cambridge rather than right in the thick of things.

Having earned some money from helping at the party, I've been treating myself and ordering a few things off my Amazon wishlist. Unfortunately the three Irish Dance DVDs I really want atm are all only available from the USA, so will take forever to arrive when I order them, and the main seller is Caiman, who I hate. So I guess I'll have to wait till I'm feeling both rich and patient.

Am REALLY hoping Nina's Heavenly Delights shows at [livejournal.com profile] tuxedo_elf's local cinema so we can go and see it next weekend, but the listings are rather ambigous. Have e-mailed for more information... *crosses fingers, toes* I'm visiting her anyway, and bringing Lambrusco, so a good time will be had.
