"Ian A Howard"
2 November 2006 00:03Anyone know who Ian A Howard at King's College, Cambridge is?
I'm asking because his computer attempted an unsolicited connection to my TCP Port 4254 at about half past 10 today, at least according to my firewall log. Which seems faintly random as I was cooking dinner at the time.
My firewall log is a busy little thing. Each day, various QMUL biology department computers try to ping me and make unsolicited connections to various of my ports. This happens approximately once every 3-5 minutes.
Huh.
I know little of how all this works, or what's going on. But I can't imagine it makes my computer run any faster!
