Just so you know I live...

I'm alive.

Everything is mad and busy.

I'm rather sleep deprived I think. By which I mean I have funky tinnitus and everything sounds odd, which I can't explain as a result of anything but tiredness.

Have a report due in tomorrow. 27 pages, and then an extra 4 to cover the diagrams. Wooh. It's all finished, but as I was printing it out my printer ran out of paper and I don't have any refills! Argh! Will pinch some from lab tomorrow, print out one full copy of report, and then photocopy it 3 times to make hard copies for my advisory panel.

OK, if I am not in bed by 1 I might actually turn into a chicken tomorrow so I'm going to skidaddle.

Busy as a bee!

I seem to have failed to update for lots of time.

Things that happened:

- There was a cocktail party. More under cut...
- I went to Cambridge and came back with a Soul, and also saw ilanin, edith_the_hutt and bought my brother 2 beers
- I went into the lab on Sunday and got a bee's worth of data
- I got two bees done on Monday and another one on Tuesday
- I had the admin department reject my order for a sheet of diffuser cos it wasn't expensive enough, so had to order it over the phone myself
- When the sheet arrived today, it was not, as the website claimed, 7.5m by 1.52m, but more like 1.2m by 0.55m. Was NOT impressed and will yell at them on phone tomorrow (as my ears seem to be returning to normal now)
- Submitted my 4 month report within the deadline and it should be reasonable as my supervisor read it through and did a rather extensive beta-job on it!

Talked to supervisor about the bee data from this week and he was all, "Oh, great! Wouldn't it be interesting to train some bees under entirely green light and then see how they react to patchy light?" And I was all, "Yes! That's exactly what I was planning to start this afternoon!" Which I would have except I ran out of Green, so need to buy more tomorrow. Also more tracing paper (which works as a surprisingly good UV-attenuator).
