I have spent 9am to 5pm dressed as a hobbit, which was all very well and good except it's been a relatively cold day and my little legs got rather chilly. The performance went well, and I managed to get all my lines right for the first time ever! Hooray! I was getting worried, because whenever I fixed one line, a new one seemed to go wrong.

We ordered pizza for lunch and picked it up in costume. So the poor bloke from Domino's was greeted by four bouncy (female) hobbits and a Strider. Pizza = good. At dinner time I discovered that the Italian down the road does the best desserts in the universe. "The Godfather for two" - enormous brownie/ice-cream/mousse/whipped cream sundae thing; I think I ate one and a half people's share. But it was so good, what choice did I have?

It's not even nine o'clock and I'm ready to flop on the floor and start snoring, which considering I fell asleep at lunchtime when everyone else was watching the Scarlet Pimpernel, is not very impressive. I don't know how celebrities cope with all that showbiz stuff - I'd be a zombie within a week if I was an actor.

Oooh, but it was so much fun. We all posed for photos afterwards, and just before the real performance, they decided my other part (generic orc) required a sword, so I got a sword! Yay! I got to 'hack' Isildur's Men to pieces. Then I got to shoot invisible arrows at Isildur. We've also all been given 'rings of power' as souvenirs (mine has been added to my keyring).

I slept at lunch too... just I vanished to my room to do it.

Wise, wise - you should have seen us. There was a Merry and a Gandalf snoring on the bed while Isildur flicked through that David Day bestiary. Both wizard and hobbit dosed up with paracetamol for various ailments and hoping to doze until it kicked in.

Far better to do sleep in private room where no baackground noise of French Revolution coming from computer.

That wasn't as hard to sleep through as the singing and the jumping ;-)

Singing? Jumping?

Would that be a reference to the overenthusiatic rendition of the Badger song? Terribly sorry 'bout that. But felt obliged to rectify the situation when several cast members confessed to never having heard it.
