*peeps out cautiously*
Have they gone?
The CICCU people are all lovely lovely people individually, but I have now been invited to the Promise meeting four times and been offered St John's Gospel two or three times. I have read a good chunk of John's Gospel, and I quit Christianity several years ago because it was doing nothing for me. I will not be converted by anything anyone can say or do (unless they convince me that churches have now become places where choklit falls from the ceiling and everyone has giant orgies).
As a (devout?) heathen, I do not require my soul to be saved. So thank you for your concern for my afterlife, but please no more leaflets!

Date: 29 Jan 2004 17:14 (UTC)I'm pretty staunchly not religious. I was out of my mind loopy delirious and I became lucid the moment a family walked through the door of my hospital room. They had been praying for me the whole ride to the hospital. I was awake when they walked in but I don't remember anything from before that moment. I want from nutcase to normal in an instant. That re-affirmed their faith. It did nothing for me. If that doesn't make me religious, I don't think anything short of meeting a god will (and it would take a lot to convince me that it's not just really good technology).
