8 August 2005 21:15Well, looks like those dreadful exchange students are going home on Wednesday/Thursday. Yay no more people filling the laundry room or defiling the peaceful sanctity of Main Court. Of course, they might move in someone worse, so I suppose I should really wait before celebrating!
Lots of people away from lab this week, so it's really quiet.
Only 3 weeks left!
Need to buy more breakfast cereal. These cranberry shredded wheat things are rather fun.

Date: 9 Aug 2005 15:36 (UTC)stupidfellow countrypeople.Too many Americans have a habit of inserting themselves somewhere and assuming the orbit of the world will shift to accomodate. I get to see it all the time, being an American :D But, nonetheless, to hear of people behaving so ignorantly as guests in another country...argh!
Funny, they're probably the same ones that, over here, expect everyone foreign to learn English and adopt American customs because of their xenophobia!

Date: 9 Aug 2005 17:27 (UTC)*feels sorry for any place that has to put up with that kind of British tourist*
I guess everyone needs to remember that when they go abroad, their behaviour reflects on their entire nation - if you've only met American/British/French etc. tourists who act like some kind of lower species of ape, then it's going to influence your opinion of the Americans/British/French as a whole!
And I think Tuxie was right when she said tourists leave their brains at home when they travel *grins*
