What is fucking wrong with the fucking brains of whichever moronic bastard it is in my year who's taken Reaching for the Sun out of our college library? There's only one copy, so obviously when our supervisor sets EVERY CATZ FIRST YEAR PHYSIOLOGIST the task of reading two chapters of it (and preparing a presentation on said two chapters), we're all going to need to look at it. And not all of are are necessarily going to be able to get into the Plant Sciences library to read one of the copies they keep there, because oddly enough, the Plant Sciences library keeps normal office hours, which happen to coincide with the times of our increasingly frequent practicals. Therefore, would it not be logical to leave the book in the college library so everyone can use it, rather than sneaking off with it? Evidently not. I've sent out a nice, polite e-mail to them all, but I suspect this may end up with me having to give up my essential coffee break in order to do Research

On a more positive note, I'm planning to spend this afternoon packing condoms for lbgt, which should be fun. I've also found chocolate medals for sale in Sainsbury's, reduced to clear, 20p each. Yum! The fact that they say "Chelsea" and "West Ham United" on them does not comrpomise the choklitiness of them.

Drosophila update: numbers now 2. One male died of cause unknown *sad music* One female appeared to commit suicide in the golden syrup *annoyed music* I'd just spent, like, a quarter of an hour fishing her out of there, dumped her on the side, and as soon as she'd dried off, she trudled straight back into the syrup. I thought, "Maybe she knows what she's doing; let's leave her to it." But no, next morning, she was all drownded. Note to self: Drosophila do not make the best of pets.

They cannot put books on reserve at the library? We always had to do that for courses so people could not take them. You could only request photocopies or read them there.

They have reserve copies of all the main course textbooks, but RftS, although a great background to plant physiology, is a mere popular science reading book, so they haven't bothered. May have to get back to my Director of Studies about that one.

What are you packing condoms for, miss?

For LBG. I decided that I should be happy with my own brilliantness and bi-ness so subscibed myself to half the university LBG listings. This week is LBG awareness week, so they're doing all events, and part of the promoting safer sex is giving out packs of condoms and lube (they're cute packs - one anal sex condom, one vaginal/oral sex condom, one pack lube; no dental dams, I'm afraid. Plus a guide to safe sex).

Anyway, they need volunteers to put these things in packets, and they're doing it at one of the main gay pubs, so of course I'm volunteering.

Have you decided you are bi now?

Of the three boxes into which society insists upon placing people, 'bi' does seem the closest one. Better would be: "I look at boys. I kiss/sleep with girls." And since I can't remember the last masculine-looking guy I actually fancied, 'straight' appears to be a rather lacking description.

Bi is a good word. pan-sexual is a better one.

Bah, boxes. Get out of them!

You're probably about a 5 then...

(0=straight, 6=gay, 3=pure-bi).

5? *looks skeptical*

I'm not convinced, To tell the truth, on that scale, I would have rated myself more, perhaps..2.2

I still do intend to get married (to a guy) sooner or later. It's just at this point in my life, I feel far more comfortable in the company of a girl for 'more intimate' matters. There's a lot of amazing understanding going on between 2 girls.

So, survey; where does everyone else rate on this scale? Please give answers to no more than 1 decimal place :)

Cool, you can see who you want then providing they aren't straight female or gay male. Wow.
