All hail Genstat!

Significant with p=0.001

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

(Unless my stats are up the creek, in which case the wheeee may be retracted at a later date.)

Hehehe, it means that my experiment worked - there is only a one in one thousand chance that the results I got (showing a difference between the effects of two conditions) could have happened entirely by chance. (One in twenty is usually considered to be "good enough" to be considered proof of something in a biological experiment.)

This is very good news, as it gives me lots more to talk about in my report! :D :D :D

Oooh, what course are you applying for?

It's not too scary, really - I've mostly found it really amazing fun. Good luck with it - I hope it goes great for you!

Thanks! It's a load off my mind. I folded and bought a popular guide to the SPSS stats program, for whenever I next have a load of ghastly statistical data to analyse. So hopefully next time will be less daunting.

Yay :)
Heh, so far better than my Adventures In Statsland, although I figured out how to do the correction I need cos of reusing results (thankyou, google. Why are you more use than my supervisor?). My entire discussion is going to be along the lines of: 'Nothing was signfnicant, but if I hadn't had to change the confidence interval, *this* and *this* would have been, so they should be looked at in future...'

/ minirant

But yay for beedate.
