princ_elladan introduced me to diary.ru, where I am attempting to learn Russian and sharing Elf-love :D There are lots of cool, lovely people there and they are amazingly patient with my poor Babelfish Russian (though I am slowly, slowly starting to pick up a bit of real Russian here and there, go me!).

Anyhoo, they have shown me lots and lots of pretty fanart, and I thought I'd link to some of the stuff they've posted recently! I am not sure who the artists are (as the convention on diary.ru seems to be to save pictures in your diary's photoalbum, so you can post the picture in your own diary without hotlinking - and though the artist is credited, my Russian is often waaay too bad to figure out where they are credited or find a link to the website!). So if you know who drew these pictures and can link me to the website, I will be muchly appreciative!

I think these pictures are by an artist called Ammadeo. But I may be confused, so don't quote me!

Project writeup is looking tantalisingly close to being finished. It's a nice feeling.

How much Russian have you learnt?

Very little, unfortunately! It is harder because I don't have a Cyrillic keyboard, so can't practice as much. But I can read the letters (slowly) now - well enough to work out which Elf or Vala is being discussed! And I am learning odd words like "спасибо" and "музыка". So far, my favourite word is эльф. *grins*

One of the girls on diary.ru has been teaching me about verbs and cases, which are a bit complicated but making more sense with time and practice!

Ooh, I hadn't realised that was Maya too. I've seen lots of his pencil drawings, of course, but the colour stuff wasn't familiar.

Yes, they all seem to read the Latin alphabet brilliantly - I suspect trying to get hyperlinks to work in Cyrillic is a fiddle anyway! But it seems like a butchery of the language to try and write it in Latin transliteration, since the Russian alphabet is really not that hard. :)
