4 February 2006 18:39I currently have silver nails. I am not altogether sure why I did this, as I normally hate painting nails, and hate having nails that are painted (half an hour after painting them, I attempted to open a penknife. Needless to say, it did not work). But I had some strange, inexplicable urge to paint my nails. So I did. In silver.
I also have an AFF account now, cos Tux said I should get one. There's nothing there that isn't already somewhere else, but *shrugs*. It gives me another webpage to visit several times a day just to see if anything has changed.
Last night we (me,
beckyc,
mr_ricarno,
emperor,
catersiandaemon) went to see Brokeback Mountain. I thought it was cute, and I liked the raunchy bits (yeah, I am so profound...), and the cuddles. I didn't like the crying, or the way it sort of petered out and ended rather wishy-washily. I think it could have benefited from either a stronger plot and a more memorable climax, or more sex. Although I'd enjoy either, I'd generally favour the first of those two suggestions!
Movie had some interesting thoughts and ideas in, anyway. It made me think a bit. Characters' grasp of the concepts of "loyalty" and "commitment" seemed rather shaky.
But hey, the good thing is that it's made a nice big contribution to the cause of making movies about people of the same sex falling in love more mainstream.
Today has included work. This makes me a good Eni.
I need to stop procrastinating the need for more milk, however.

Date: 5 Feb 2006 00:39 (UTC)Yes. It was a lovely portrait of their lives, and did a pretty good job of fitting 20 years into a film; and those lives did mostly engage me, though little happens, but the end left me crying out. I suppose it's realistic, but it didn't feel satisfying.

The things to add could be read as being as dodgy as the army ads on buses...
