Just literally got back in now. (I HATE Stagecoach vehicles...so clapped out...)
Booted up computer to see if the world ended while I was in Oxford.
Laptop screen suddenly works fine. WTF?! I have no idea why it's suddenly fixed itself.
*gives up* Can't grumble about that, anyway. We'll have to see if the situation continues, of course...
ETA: It's gone again. But this time it went totally on the left half of the screen and only partially on the right, and flickered for a while before the right went totally dim too. This computer is teh weird.

Date: 20 Feb 2006 14:50 (UTC)I hope the laptop behaves itself. My last monitor started randomly dying and needing several reboots to start, then eventually died. Luckily, my dad had a spare. /random

Date: 20 Feb 2006 15:00 (UTC)I'm glad you had a spare monitor when that happened - last weekend nearly turned into dire computerless d00m for me, and the proscpect was rather scary! *was very glad to have got herself a new monitor within 24 hours*
