I've had a mixed day. On one hand, someone left a bouquet of roses and lilies for me. On the other hand, my laptop has been pronounced unrepairable and I have to get a new one.
That article gives benzene concentrations of 8 parts per billion. I suspect you'd detect that much in air along a reasonably busy highway, benzene being not unheard of in automotive fuels.
Quite. What would be more interesting would be a [Benzene] wrt time study, to give as a feel for the rate of Benzene build-up. Even so, 8ppb isn't really much. Benzene gets a lot of bad press, and it is toxic and a carcinogen, but most of it is over-hyped.
I've had a good day! - My BS lesson was cancelled due to missing teacher, so I got to spend the time working on mathematical formulas (out of choice)! - This was quickly followed by a good game of badminton which, I do admit, I was playing my best in =) - The lunch break happily passed by playing a peculiar game called Ratchet Screwdriver, although our version was slightly different from the one detailed there. - Then on the way home I had a lovely tailwind. It's so calming to be going along at exactly the same speed as the wind; you can see all the trees and plants swaying wildly, but you can't feel anything, so it's like you're surrounded by this protective bubble... - Indulged myself in Jelly Babies! Some of them are still here =D - Then there was the sun! It was shining all over us all day! Making everything all light and warm and pretty. - Won a good game of Original HoMM III
This evening is looking to be a nice long bath, the conclusion of my Metroid Prime 2: Echoes saga and some quiet animation as an epilogue. So yes, a wonderful day =)
We had a very good day today. We took delivery of a brand new Hyundai Elantra. It's the first time we've ever been able to afford an actual brand-new car. I am squeeing like a mad thing.
And also, interest in my RPG game (http://arhuaine.livejournal.com/262627.html) is much higher than I expected, so it will definitely be going ahead soon.
Wow! Sounds very shiny indeed! When do you get to test it out on the road?
I really liked the look of your RPG actually, and was very tempted to sign up, but I've decided that I should probably avoid committing to anything new between now and exams, really. I have enough problems motivating myself to do essays as it is!
Oh we've already been out in it this afternoon. It's very very shiny. :)
No worries about the game. Hopefully it'll be around for as long as Sinyamar was, so you'll always be able to change your mind when things ease off a bit.
I had a scary midterm today, and it was in the high seventies when it's only the beginning of March, but on the other hand it WAS nice weather, even if it was too early for my tastes. It was a potentially scary day, but I was pretty cheerful despite midterm looming in the future. I think it was because I got all my freaking out out of my system last night. :/
I'm sorry your drink sucked. ...I mean, I'm sorry your DAY sucked (that was a weird slip!!). But I am sorry that your drink sucks as well. I sat there and read that while sipping on a vanilla coke... I am so doomed.
The day mings. I ming. I have flea bites and, quite possibly, fleas.
The cats at the Organic Urban Smallholding that ewtikins is house-sitting for a month have fleas, and I hope that they are Ctenocephalides Felis, which doesn't carry quite as many horrible diseases as Pulex Irritans, the familiar flea. And drops off and dies without completing the egg batch, as human hosts are not sufficiently cat-flavoured.
On the other hand, the bites could be from fleas off the rats the cute little kitties insist on dragging into the house. P. Irritans lives quite cheerfully on rats, and their own natural parasites can pass on all manner of blood-borne diseases.
I am trying very hard not to scratch and incorporate scales, hairs and flea shit into the wounds, which will make my day even shittier.
Did I mention that the dog has worms? Or smelt a fox last night, precipitating a midnight expedition to the henhouse? I have never been more certain that my father made the right decision in handing over the farm to his brother and making a new life in the factories of England.
Thankfully the owners return on Monday and Ewt returns to a livestock-free life on the Isle of Dogs, with occasional visiting cats.
I'm not honestly sure! I've never been involved with the MPAs - did they send you some kind of e-mail asking for your permission to be included in the category?
Much better today than yesterday, thank you! Yesterday was a bit of a stress day, but I'm more or less normal (just tired) today. So things are getting done (and departmental people are getting kicked, woohoo!).
That calendar you sent me is endlessly useful, by the way. It sits on my windowsill next to the computer and whenever I need to know a date in April or something I start flicking through it!
I'm alright, i've been obscenely ill lately, and have a real heavy load going on at work at the moment. But mostly okay, just typing up some work related notes, then running off to bed for me!

Good luck with the game.
