Today was much better. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was the best day of my life, or anything, but it's been perfectly acceptable, and nothing objectionable has happened.
I've talked to my DoS - he mostly nodded and agreed with me. In a way, that was mostly what I needed - someone I could have verbal diarrhoea all over. If he'd told me, "You need to do more work. I want you to have an essay finished by this date, and another by this date," this may have been good for me - but I guess I'm meant to be a grown-up now and set my own deadlines. OK, so admittedly in that respect, I do miss secondary school...
Also talked to bee supervisors. After the slightly headless chickenlike state I was in yesterday, they were a bit worried, so have put their foot down and banned me from 4 weeks of bees. The compromise is 1 week of bees, 3 weeks of home. And yes, I will enjoy going home for a bit, seeing parents, guinea pig - even my brother. He's a pain in the bum at times, but he's witty and clever, and he makes me smile. *is mushy*
In other news...Sir Ming!
In other other news...Oxford! On Saturday, for the Tolkien Quiz. Should be fantastic!

Silliness aside, I am happy to hear that today was a better day for you. *hugs* :)
(And sorry for the double post. Apparently, I've forgotten how to do link tags. Grrr.)

Date: 5 Mar 2006 17:19 (UTC)My main argument has been that if I spend the whole time at home, I will go into a vegetative state: sleep till noon, spend most of the day chatting online in my room and avoid work altogether. But bees will keep me in work mode and make me more productive outside the lab.
Still, at this point, I've concluded I damn well need to go home and spend a week doing nothing, so I will! *grins*
