Looks like my latest purchase will be a shiny new printer!
Old one (which is old) has a problem where it keeps telling me the cradle won't move (when it will) - this according to online techie forums, is probably an issue with the gears inside, and probably not fixable. Since several places sell printers at, like, £30 at the moment, and I could find even cheaper ones second hand, I don't think I have a real problem.
I think there is a curse on my Works of Isengard!

I've always thought that printers were the most evil form of computer hardware - I've always found them temperamental even at their best.
