Am tired. And tipsy. Long day, but very very fun and nice.

Slightly Belated Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] jaiden_s!!!

I think there were some other recent birthdays... [livejournal.com profile] illusive_shelle and [livejournal.com profile] kay_elf. Sorry for being too inept and missing them, but many happy returns nonetheless.

Am back working with the bees. I love the bees. I missed them.

This colony is rather poor. Bees rather low quality and badly behaved, and not really putting much effort into their tasks. Bah. But I spent from 10am till 5pm with them today and it was lovely.

Ah, see, my first thought was that you were combining the experiences of bees and alcohol ;)

As I incomprehensibly tired to explain to you it was my birthday on 20th.
Low quality bees? What means of punishment do you use on Bees?

Oooh. That was Monday! Happy birthday for Monday!!!

Some of the bees are deformed, their behaviour is dreadful and one of them was twitching oddly...

The main effective punishment is quinine, but to use that they actually have to land on the wrong flower and drink, which they don't; they just fly up to the flower, notice just before they reach it that it's wrong and then turn around and fly to the right one. (The right ones are pink; the wrong ones are white.)

Thank you.
That is strange. I wonder why they have bad bees.

Awwwww, cute bees! Are they bumblebees too, or ordinary bees?
*loffs bumblebees*

They're bumblebees. The project involves snapdragon flowers, which are quite complicated for the bee to learn to "work", and honey bees just aren't strong enough to open them.

I am happy - bumblebees are cuter! :)
