enismirdalMoving home in just a couple of hours now. Room (mostly) packed up. Am using new computer - spent a long time yesterday just using it and discovering things that need installing: Adblock, Dragonflame, my Qute skin for Firefox.
My brother was amazing - he installed everything I asked for, even little things like WordWeb. *is very appreciative*
He also installed ViaVoice for WordPro - the old dictation software I used to use with my ancient bucket back in 2003! I wrote up about half of Underestimated using voice dictation - it will be fun to see if these days I can type or dictate faster. *suspect 2 years of heavy IM use has improved her typing speed rather a lot* What's amusing is how FAST ViaVoice runs on my new computer. It was designed a long time ago, so actually ran quite adequately (bar the odd crash) on my 133MHz bucket. Now I've got a reasonably modern computer, the "training time" that was predicted to take 20-70 minutes took about 2. *impressed*
It scares me how fast technology moves.
Bah, breakfast nearly over. Need to strip my bed and organise those ATM receipts, I think.
