Packing day
22 April 2006 22:49Packing is done and was, for once, relatively painless.
Since this is probably the last time I will get to see Flower (btw, *HUGS* and thanks to the people who left comments on my last Flower-related post, but to whom I was too disorganised to reply), I took a couple of little photos, which I will share. We went and sat on the grass today - we've been doing it all week and she loves it. It's made her quite a bit perkier, and she's coming out and watching the world again, so I'm glad I was able to give her something to enjoy. I'll sit on the grass with my legs sticking out, and set her down in between my legs, where she feels safe and protected, and can munch grass for perhaps 10 minutes or so, before I put her away and pick her some more grass for tea. I'll stroke her, she'll purr, it's nice.
The quails started making noises today while she munched grass near the aviaries. When male quails are on the pull, they make a noise sort of like the USS Voyager going into warp. Flower thought this was immensely confusing, and because she couldn't see the quails, assumed it was me making the funny noises and gave me a bewildered look.

Now, I need a shower tonight, as I'm getting up at 6:30 tomorrow and do not want to be showering then!

Date: 23 Apr 2006 16:14 (UTC)It's actually just grass (and hay for bedding) - I hardly ever see alfalfa for sale over here, so maybe it just grows better and is more available in the US! Which is a pity, as it's cool stuff. The grass is from the garden - it's really growing like mad at the moment, because of the warmer weather and rain.

Date: 23 Apr 2006 16:22 (UTC)It's the way it goes on for hours and hours and there is a seemingly never-ending list of little bits and pieces that all need to go in boxes/bags.
Well, all done now. Am now in the process of unpacking and working out what things I managed to forget! So far, I seem to be OK!
