Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] _idealism!

Yesterday was goodly CTS inmoot, which I enjoyed. There were lots of yay people, and intelligent discussion on a wide variety of awesome subjects. There was also the Broadside of much greatness, followed by the Waggle Dance of much greatness. I was a happy Eni.

Was also breaking in new Doc Martens and, as expected, got blisters on both heels. Ought to do a poll on whether such blisters should be popped or not... *grins* Luckily, old Docs are still serviceable, so I can take my time wearing in the new boots. I forget how stiff the leather of new boots tends to be!

Today was visiting of [livejournal.com profile] innocencest and watching of Firefly. I do love Firefly. We are both in agreement that Kaylee is just too adorable for words. We tried out blackcurrant Jaffa Cakes. In general, I think they are nice but not great, and probably wouldn't get them often. I like cherry ones (Tesco own brand). And the French ones are best of all (also cherry, very juicy, with white chocolate bits too). I also saw Marzipan Ritter in Tesco, which I have a great weakness for. Mmm.

Getting to [livejournal.com profile] innocencest's house, however, was easier said than done on this occasion! First, the lecture-talk-thing overran (it was a talk on how to give an oral presentation, so not formal teaching, but incredibly useful and very interesting). So when I actually got out, it was 3:30 already and I was meant to be meeting at 4pm. Then I tried to get on a bus. But they've discontinued the 19 and 19A to Milton on weekdays, replacing them with the 9 and the x9. The x9, annoyingly, appears not to go to Milton, and the 9 seems to be hourly rather than half-hourly, departing at 10 past the hour. So I finally got on a Milton-bound number 9 at 4:10pm, and after a quick trip round Tesco, turned up at [livejournal.com profile] innocencest's house at something close to 4:45pm. Eep!

Doc Martens always used to give me bloody heels of the worst sort. They are probably the most comfy shoes ever once they are a bit softer, but before that they are hell. My mom who seems to have less... um, tender feet than I do, used to wear them for me for a month or so, making them all nice and soft, hehe.

Not sure about the popping, I heard good and bad about either way!

ROFL. Yes, exactly, that's what I could have said :) PS. I hope there wasn't too much cuddling?

PPS. I may yet try to bully you into writing storytelling initial paras. Don't feel obliged, I just thought you'd be good at it :)
