I went to the beer festival and it was good. There was this beer with coffee in, which was really nice. I was going to stop, but then emperor pointed this out and I got some. So yummy.

Went home. Part of the reason why my fingers don't want to type, of course, is the fact that it went REALLY cold out there. So they went cold-stiff. The other reason, naturally, is the beer.

I got mud in my bed, oops. See, at the start of term, I rotated my puter so I could sit in bed and use it, but I forgot today that my boots were muddy cos Jesus Green is a quagmire. Well, I have a clean sheet so all is well.

Didn't text my beee supervisor in Australia or anything silly like that!

And I'm grinning like and idiot, so I guess it was a successful evening!

Oh, and the cheese was nice!

I'm partway through that story I mentioned to you and am feeling in need of reassurance (or critical advice) over whether it's working.

Yes, it does - got the e-mail but I'm responding slower than normal to mail at the moment (I'm trying to juggle revision and applying for PhD all at once, and it's sort of minorly stressing me, but such is life!).

How detailed a beta job do you need? If you only need a glance over to say, "Yeah, that's lovely," or "That works, but this, that, and that bit there could do with improving in this way, that way, and some other way to make them more plausbile/stylish/sexy," I can do that fairly soon. But with exams in 2 weeks, I'm pulling back from doing any new detailed beta work, so complicated nitpicks won't happen till June 4th or later, I'm afraid.

So yes, I'm still cool to give it a glance over, but if you want a detailed critique it may have to wait till after finals - RL and all!

I've got someone else who does the grammer nitpick for me. What I need is someone who doesn't share my attitude of 'icky girl bits' to tell me if the smut is working and.. ir it isn't... what could be done to fix it.

My deadline is June 1st. Which is why I'm hoping to send you parts as I go.

I'm at least halfway through the story currently (at 6000) and there's only one real smut scene at the moment that needs going over.

OK, June 1st is the date of my second exam so it's slap-bang in the middle of things. If you send the fic so far, I'll give the smut a brief readthrough and stuff, and send back my thoughts and comments...but if there is likely to be another 6000 words coming between now and June 1st then I really do have to decline, as I just can't afford to have things hovering over me that aren't revision.

So I'll do my best with what you have so far, but I can't really take on any more than that, sorry.

*wave* Saw you there; was going to find you and talk to you; ETOOMANYPEOPLE. I just need to move to Cambridge already, then I'll get to more of these things, see more people more often, and so on.

The cheese was nice, especially the yarg, which they appeared to run out of before I got a second helping. Oh well, I may be back on Saturday evening at this rate, for more post-exam recovery.
