Now I have a giant freezer I can buy frozen peas! SQUEEEEE!

We have an oven as well, so I can make pizzas! Not that I really need to, as the place round the corner sells 7" pizzas for £1!

There's a Sainsbury's 10 minutes down the road, for big shops, but a little Co-op just round the corner will do for most basic things!

In general, I'm much happier today. Even if still no joy with the MSN/Yahoo thing.

Although I can't say I particularly want to meet the young gentleman who invited me to have sexual relations with him in Stepney Green again.

The uni website is the most un-navigable thing I've ever seen and the search engine is useless. Finding information about what I'm meant to be doing over the next week has proven extremely hard. I seem to have established that I need to:

  • Pay bill (ASAP)
  • Collect Student ID Card (tomorrow)
  • Go to a welcome/induction session (Wed, from 9am)
  • Enrol as a research postgraduate (next week, between 25th and 29th)
  • Meet my supervisor (Mon 25th)

But I can pop into the lab to look round anytime I feel like it.

Dad phoned me at lunchtime. Yay dad. *hugs him*

I need Elves to stick up on my pinboard. I have space for about 4 printouts. I need suggestions of Elf pictures that are prettiful and not too explicit (don't want to scare the cleaners just yet!) Probably PG-13 and below is good. My Lindir and Círdan commishie from [livejournal.com profile] say_aye is definitely going to be joining the stuff already up there. Naturally, Rávo is next to my desk, overseeing everything I do. *pets*

(I've got into the bad habit of using google site:blah.com first, and the site search engine only if that fails...) Hope you're having a good time, though.

I should probably try that - does it reliably search subdomains too?

Time is good now I'm less tired and stressed. But it turns out college have no record that I actually met the offer they gave me - my degree transcript must have been lost in the post. ARGH. So tomorrow will be faffsome as I attempt to sort that out.

I think so. Here are comments by you to my livejournal: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=site%3Acartesiandaemon.livejournal.com+enismirdal&btnG=Google+Search&meta=

Of course, the ranking can be a bit random if no-one ever links to the pages, I think, but most searches are just complete garbage, only a few are good.

*hug* But this is a administrative faff, right? As in, major pain, but you still seem to be enrolled? Beaurocracy sucks.

Also, sorry -- I can't remember: remind me in what manner you are going to be poking bees now? :)

I LOVE FROZEN PEAS!!!

(but I hate elves)

(okay, I don't really hate them, I just don't like them as much as Hobbits, dwarves or gnomes.)

Frozen peas are just awesome!

(And hehe, whatever floats your boat! :D I think they're pretty, I guess. I might add some Bagoas pictures too, now I think of it.)

Is the problem with MSN the same as the problem with Yahoo?

Also, my local Pizza places costs £14, on average. Feel like swapping?

Well, after a few people suggested it, I attempted to work this new MSN/Yahoo feature where the two can be made to communicate with each other. Unfortunately, so far I have had no luck at all!

Is that a Pizza Hut? I used to get individual pizzas from the one on Parker's Piece for a fiver!

No, it's a local pizza place of no fame and a name similar to 'Pizza and Curry'. Sadly, Parker's Piece is about four miles too far away for my liking =P

Anyway, I'd like to start chatting with you again, and if you're going to be on MSN I'd be glad to add you =)

I will indeed be on MSN. Although if my hunch is right, the newest release of MSN messenger has filled my computer with spyware, so I'll be running it through Trillian and I'm not sure if Trillian will let me chat on MSN while I'm invisible!

*likes to lurk*

Try Thebian band or [livejournal.com profile] lassegalen. I have links at home if you'll email me and remind me. :)

Theban band...there's a plan. I could print off their pretty Bagoas, maybe...

I hadn't thought of [livejournal.com profile] lassegalen; there's a thought!

Thanks!

That sounds great. I've moved several times myself and once you're settled in everything gets better.

What are you doing at uni? I thought you had finished uni or did I get this wrong?

You're not wrong - I finished my undergraduate degree. But I'm insane so I then applied for a PhD in London. At the end of 2009 or so, I should be Dr Eni, hopefully. In the meantime, I'm just a student dogsbody and the youngest person in the flat! *grins*

I'm an old pro at moving these days - I used to trip back and forth between home and uni 6 times a year! This time, however, I didn't even get to visit my new home before I arrived, so it was all a bit of a suprise!

Noooo, frozen peas are evil and they will bite when you are not looking!

It's starting to sound really nice there. And there is nothing at all wrong with frozen peas... Total life savers.

I have to upgrade my YIM, apparently it doesn't support the MSN chat feature thingy. But not tonight. My computer is unhappy tonight.

I'm mailing you something in about an hour - hope you get it okay *grins*

*hugs*

Don't worry about the Yahoo thingy; I've been trying to make it work with Erestor and Uli, and so far not a sausage. Meep! So I'm just giving up on that for now; e-mail will work too.

Frozen peas are a godsend, so easy just to throw them in a pan of boiling water and hooray, vegetables!

I don't feel like going to bed yet, so I imagine I'll be around to pick up the mail as it comes in! *bounces*

...um?

Whoah! That's weird, as your LJ comment notifications are arriving in the same inbox just fine!

Try enismirdal@caths.co.uk - that one has other quirks (like not sending to AOL e-mail addresses) but is mostly reliable.

Yay for frozen peas! I'm thinking of buying my own fridge for this year to avoid the stealing of the milk. and freezer space would be good- I seem to remeber college freezers only have iceboxes...
