I am happy because:

  • I have discovered Colourful Tabs for Firefox, which are endlessly tacky and therefore make me endlessly happy.
  • I was sitting at my desk doing Evil Code and deciding SQL actually smells of wee more than Java does, when my supervisor from last year just walks in! That's right, the one who is in Cambridge. She was visiting for the day for...some reason...and came to see me. So we talked to each other very fast and exchanged news and things were happyful.
  • The people I ordered my laptop bag off are sending me a replacement free of charge. This is in spite of the fact that it wasn't their fault the postman stole the first one, or left it outside for someone else to steal it. I'm having it delivered to the department, where it is less likely to go astray.
  • Braised lamb's hearts are even nicer if they've been left in a tub in the fridge overnight because all the flavours get richer, and these ones are so yummy.

Oops. I just poured red wine down myself. But never mind. The sweatshirt is black...

ooooh...*loves firefox toys too* Wow, I'm a whole update or so behind on Firefox!! When did they upgrade to 2.0?? Geez. I thought I had it set to automatically update.

I got it last week, I think. It was released days before IE 7, it seems! It looks slightly different and the little x buttons to exit tabs are in a different place, but overall I'm happy with it! Install was problem free, unlike the IE 7 install, which froze my computer for 20 minutes. At work. Way to go there, Microsoft.

You were the one who got me hooked on addons! I hadn't considered all the widgets and gadgets until you started pimping IE tab and the like!

Hooray your icon!

Auto update doesn't, in my experience, automatically update you across versions. Given the extensive differences between versions, this is IMO as it should be.

You've only just discovered colourful tabs? Dear, how have you lived? They are the joy of my online life *grins*

I don't know how I never saw them before! I guess I always searched for "useful" things rather than "exciting" things!

I know, I really don't understand how I never came across them! I guess I've always run searches for "useful" rather than "fun" things.

Huh, I thought I'd replied to this comment already. Evidently not.

Oh. Apparently I had. But for some reason it only showed up as 3 comments. Silly Firefox, forgetting to refresh. Also, nice bottle of wine making me less clever.

I looked at this last night, but it was late and I was sort of floaty with pain meds and I got confused and went away shaking my head...

I think I'm still confused, but anyway...

I am doing SQL today, and tommorrow.

Lots and lots of SQL.

Views, Scalar functions, and TABLE-returning functions. In T-SQL, a language lacking many of the constructs and commands programmers take for granted... Like a STOP statement.

SQL programming sucks, like an armless man retrieving lost golfballs on a dairy farm.

Wow. That's much harder than what I'm doing!

I like the analogy. That fits my experiences well!

I *heart* color tabs. They are wicked. So perty and rainbow-esque.

*nod nod*

What a nice little tool! I love it already. Makes handling all those tabs so much easier. Thanks for the tip. *huggles*

Our postmans are the same. It's really incredible how lazy they have become on the last ones. They don't even look if the receiver of the package is at home, they simply put it down on the front steps, so that everybody walking along the street can just take it with them. I barely dare to order books anymore even though luckily nothing has been stolen yet.

Just imagine if you had been drinking milk...
