Well...I'm back.
28 December 2006 17:30Can I pass out now?
I decided I wanted to take large numbers of Things back to London with me, including a second duvet AND a load of clothes Enibrother has outgrown but I liked the look of. Unfortunately, it wouldn't all fit in my suitcase. So I squeezed in as much as I could, until suitcase weighed more than I did, then pushed the duvet into a carrier bag and took that too. And laptop bag.
And then attempted to navigate the Tube system like this.
This was perhaps not the wisest decision of my life, considering the Tube doesn't really win at accessibility, therefore most stations have some steps, especially when I'd forgotten that Euston isn't actually directly on the H&C line and at King's Cross, the H&C platform and the Northern platform seem to be at least a quarter of a mile apart, and when I did get an H&C it decided it was going to terminate at Whitechapel. Oh, and then there were the 3 flights of stairs to get all my junk up once I got back to the flat.
Hee.
Well, in any case, I made it. I feel a bit lightheaded, but hey...
And to my utter astonishment and delight, the lads have kept the kitchen clean while I've been away*. Apart from a strange aroma of ethyl ethanoate or a similar funky solvent... So that saves me a Domestic Scrubbing Job.
Now I just need to muster the energy to go back downstairs and pop to the Co-op for some vegetables and milk!
*Though they have used my frying pan and my chopping board. But at least they seem to have been washed up...
