Thank you list!
31 December 2006 15:17There may still be stuff in the post, I don't know, but now seems like a good time to say thank you to everyone who has, in some way, shape or form, conveyed something nice to me! *hugs you all*

Thank you for all your happy-vibes! I still have two cards to send (one because I went to parents' with every intention of sending it, and then forgot to bring the address, and one because I still don't have the address and need to get it!)
Am debating whether I should actually drag myself to the department this evening to work for a while, or just switch to my work ID on my computer in the comfort of my room and work for an hour or two. The latter would certainly be simpler and more comfortable. Not least because I bought chai and it is yummy. But being here may compromise productivity.
Definitely going into the department tomorrow.
Have spotted a conference taking place in Mikkeli, Finland in June. Incidentally, it falls over my birthday. And supervisor is apparently presenting there. This may be worth trying to get to go to... :D
Did shopping yesterday, stocked up with lots of veggies and meat to last me aaages. Made soup, which has come out very thick and flavourful and yummy, but more like stew than soup! Hehe! I also treated myself to some halloumi, which has brought me great joy.
ETA: ARGH! I missed off the ever-wonderful
daeomae,

Date: 1 Jan 2007 20:46 (UTC)I did go into work properly today...again, I didn't have to, but when I have the lab to myself I create a little Eni-haven all of my own and work rather happily like that!
Halloumi is a magical product of Cyprus. It's a cheese, made from a mixture of goat and ewe milk. It has a really high melting point, so you can fry it, grill (http://www.halloumicheese.com/pix/main_page_01.jpg) it or (best of all) barbeque it. Oh, and Delia Smith has an AMAZING recipe for halloumi kebas (http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/marinated-halloumi-cheese-kebabs-with-herbs,1328,RC.html) that is TO DIE FOR! :D :D
