I am now thoroughly immunised against...

Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio, Hepatitis A and Typhoid.

Along with all the normal kiddie immunisations one would normally get.

Go me!

Supervisor asking me for a couple of impossible or at least unfeasible things, but I think I've thought up a do-able compromise to at least one of them, if only the darned code would work.

Off to [livejournal.com profile] tuxedo_elf's as of tomorrow to celebrate her birthday and things. Squeeage!

Haven't forgotten Pride writeup. Will do one. For now, I will leave you with one of the biggest and most lovely highlights - Mr John Gorgeous Barrowman kissing his most lovely beloved Mr Scott Also Gorgeous Gill live on stage. AWWWWWWWWW! (YouTube video, just over 2 minutes, dodgy amateur camera phone quality.)

Er... Wot code?

If it's SQL, I'm doing rather more of it than is good for me.

Nah, the SQL largely behaves itself at the moment. The tricksy bit is the JSP this time.

Beyond me, then. Unless it's Jackson Structured Programming.

Visiting Tuxie

Have fun! We actually spoke - real speak on telephone instead of chat on line - on Mon and she said you were coming for weekend.

Hopefully when she gets to London you can meet up more often (yes, I know it's opposite sides, but it's easier getting round London as you actually do have public transport as opposed to Kent which has big gaps (and buses that stop at 1840 to my home!)

Yes, I've been immunised for everything as well with working with freight from all over, but they made us have rabies injections as well. At least they've stopped doing those in one's bum! I work with a v devout Muslim and I couldn't see him being happy with a lady doctor asking to inject him in his bum (since I'm not really sure, from the way he speaks, that even his wife has seen his bare bum!) but luckily, when I checked before we went so I could warn him/ask that they got a male to do it, they can now do it in your arm.

When I was younger and skinnier they seemed to do them all in the bum (or perhaps they just liked humiliating us!)

Enough of this - hope you have no adverse reactions and enjoy the weekend.

I'm really looking forward to seeing her LOADS when she's moved - some of my PhD work is at Kew, so I often end up there anyway, and then I can drag her into Kew for lunch, meet up in Richmond and visit all the time! So it's about as convenient as possible (and if I need an early meeting with Kew supervisor I can always come and see her the previous night and go in the next morning!).

I was half hoping that I would get the immunisations into my bum - more padding there! But as it turned out they weren't bad at all - barely felt them!

Don't seem to have any real problems. Left arm feels a little tender, a bit like when I've carried aa heavy bag back from Sainsbury's, but nothing serious! :D

Some of those are normal kiddie immunisations ;-)

Isn't it annoying how not all of them last the same amount of time (eg Hep A, which you need a booster for after a year), so you actually have to remember what you got done when!

[identity profile] enismirdal.livejournal.com 2007-07-05 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehe, yep. I just didn't want to make it sound like my parents were negligent in my immunisation schedule when I was little.

Luckily the nurse gave me a nice little card with lists of when boosters are next due (right up to 2012). :D

Right arm fine...left arm a little sore today, a bit like when I've been lifting something heavy.

Where are you off to, with all these immunisations?
