I don't suppose anyone has a photo of a Scandinavian or German flower meadow that I might be able to borrow? (I'd credit you as long as I have a real or real-sounding name to credit you by!)

It's for the background of a poster I'm doing - at the moment I'm using a picture of a gorgeous South African hillside which, although delightful, has a rather tenuous link to the data, which happen to be based on German and Norwegian flowers!

The criteria would be:

• High-res - it'll get blown up to 1m by 1.4m or thereabouts, so if it goes fuzzy that's not so great


• No big people/dogs/large man-made objects as they'll be fragmented by boxes containing text and graphs, and aren't really the point of the pic/poster.


• A strip of blue sky across the top (coinciding with where the poster title will be!)


• Preferably, a variety of flower colours present


• Nice and light and bright, or at least clean-up-able by increasing the brightness

In other words, something like this only European!

Also, does anyone have a decent quality picture of a flower head of Primula veris, the cowslip, or a purple thistle type thing? (Same reason, but as a small image, not a flood-fill background!)

Had a look through all my flower photos, but I can't find any that could be of any use to you. I know my grand parents have the flower you're looking for in their garden, but as it's january and I'm in France I can't take any pics. :(

Swiss do? My parents have lots of photos of Swiss meadows. I'll ask them, and try to find one without cows :)

All I can think of right now are from my MEF collection, such as this or this, but there's man-made objects galore in the background. Or the summer picspam stuff (such as this), but it doesn't really have all that much variety. Sorry I can't help!

As for a purple "thistle type thing": I have no idea whether this helps, but it's purple and, while not actually a thistle, vaguely resembling one in its blossom shape... >_>
